Laura Goldie, Nobel Peace Prize Nominee 2021-2022

Laura Goldie

Laura Goldie’s exemplary career spans over two decades of continuous and dedicated service to humanitarian and mental health advocacy, as well as education and community engagement. As the Director of Nomination Scotland & Engagement for the Global Goodwill Ambassadors Foundation (GGAF) since 2015, she has played an imperative role in advancing the organisation’s mission of uniting humanitarians worldwide. Her leadership in promoting the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is exemplified through her tireless efforts to foster global goodwill, implement impactful community programs, and create a platform for advocacy and collaboration.

Laura’s extensive involvement in mental health advocacy is another cornerstone of her career. With over two decades of experience in psychiatry and mental health care, she has worked to destigmatise mental illness and promote awareness through education, public speaking, and direct community outreach. She has been an ambassador for the "My Body is My Body" program, a child abuse prevention initiative that blends education with creative animation to teach body safety to children. This role, alongside her work with the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) and various community befriending services, highlights her commitment to supporting vulnerable populations and fostering healthier, safer environments. Notably, Laura was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2021 for her outstanding contributions to child advocacy and humanitarian work.

In addition to her advocacy and humanitarian roles, Laura has made significant contributions to education and professional development. Her expertise in consumer psychology, sociology, law, and university-level teaching has empowered countless individuals to develop critical skills in communication, leadership, and mental health awareness. Through her involvement with the Research Foundation of India, she has expanded her impact on global education and research, bridging cultural divides and fostering collaboration across borders. Please give her a warm welcome as a partner of Bridging the Gap!
